About Costa Rica
San Jose is the capital of Costa Rica with a vast seashore, green parks and recreational activities. A significant Costa Rican population still remains below poverty, contributing to inequality in wealth distribution. Consistent with Costa Rica’s government’s commitment to pursue good governance, sustainable development, and inclusive growth, and the Academy’s own mission to serve islands, particularly this year’s theme on the sustainable growth in developing countries and emerging markets, San Jose in Costa Rica proves to be an ideal location to hold ABEM 2019 Conference.
